What is this service?
Hotmart is a platform for buying and selling digital products. Independent creators publish online courses, ebooks, memberships, communities and subscription content there, and Hotmart handles the storefront, the checkout, the payment processing and the delivery of what you bought. It is a Brazilian company that has grown into a global marketplace, reaching buyers in more than 180 countries.
The important thing to understand as a buyer is that Hotmart is the payment processor, not the author of what you are buying. When you pay for someone’s course, the charge goes to Hotmart, and Hotmart pays the creator. That is why a purchase shows up on a card statement as HOTMART followed by the seller’s or affiliate’s name rather than the name of the course — a line that often looks unfamiliar when you scan your statement weeks later.
You do not pay Hotmart a subscription to be a buyer. You pay whatever the creator has priced their product at, once for a one-off product or on a recurring basis for a membership. A Mehbit virtual Visa or Mastercard topped up with USDT works at that checkout like any other international card.
Why is payment hard?
Many local bank cards are not authorized for international SaaS billing. Services process payments through Stripe on international rails, so domestic-only cards are often declined even when you have sufficient balance.
Accepted card types
- Virtual Visa
- Virtual Mastercard
- Prepaid
- Debit
- Credit card
- Crypto (direct)
Hotmart accepts credit and debit cards including Visa and Mastercard, and a reloadable Mehbit virtual card was accepted and charged successfully. Hotmart does not take cryptocurrency, so topping up a Mehbit card with USDT and paying by card is the route.

FAQ
Can I pay on Hotmart with a virtual Visa or Mastercard?
Yes. Credit and debit cards are among Hotmart’s global payment methods, and we tested it with a real Mehbit card — the payment went through and settled. Issue a Mehbit virtual card, top it up with USDT, and pay on the product’s checkout page.
Why does my statement say HOTMART and a name I do not recognise?
Because Hotmart is the payment processor, not the course author. The charge comes from Hotmart and carries the seller’s or affiliate’s name rather than the title of what you bought. It is your purchase — just labelled by who sold it. Note down what you bought at the time so the line makes sense later.
How much does Hotmart cost?
Nothing, as a buyer — there is no platform fee or subscription to use Hotmart. You pay the price the creator set for their product, once for a one-off purchase or on each renewal for a membership. Prices may be displayed converted into a local currency, so the exact amount taken from a dollar-funded card depends on the conversion rate on the day.
Can I get a refund on a Hotmart purchase?
Within the guarantee period, yes. The creator chooses whether that window is 7, 15, 21 or 30 days; for online consulting it is always 7 days. Request the refund from your purchase page inside that window. The money returns to the payment method you used, approval can take up to 7 days, and for card purchases Hotmart gives a deadline of up to 90 days for the refund to complete.
Why can I not see the payment option I want at checkout?
Because each creator decides which payment methods their own product accepts, and some methods are limited to specific countries. The list you see on one product’s checkout page will not match another’s. If the card field is missing, that is the creator’s configuration rather than a problem with the card itself.
Tips
Check the guarantee period on the checkout page before you pay. The creator sets it at 7, 15, 21 or 30 days — only online consulting is fixed at 7.
The payment options you see are the ones that creator enabled. A missing card field is their setting, not a problem with your card.
The price may be shown converted into a local currency, so leave a little headroom on the card for the conversion rate on the day.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Keep the Mehbit card active until the refund window has closed.
Do not expect an instant refund: approval can take up to 7 days, and a card refund has a deadline of up to 90 days to complete.
The charge appears on your statement as HOTMART plus the seller or affiliate name, not the name of the course — note what you bought so you recognise it later.
For a membership or subscription product, the card is charged again on each renewal. Cancel from your Hotmart purchase page if you do not want it to continue.
