Pay for Contabo

Contabo bills in euros, US dollars or British pounds — you pick the currency when you order and the account stays in it. In US dollars the entry Cloud VPS 4 plan is listed at $6.60 a month, and Contabo advertises an effective rate of $5.28 a month if you commit to a 24-month term. Larger plans — Cloud VPS 6, 8, 12, 16 and 18 — scale up to 18 vCPU cores and 96 GB of RAM; their current prices are shown on Contabo’s site. VAT may be added depending on your country, and paid add-ons such as a Windows licence raise the monthly figure.

A Contabo server is a contract for a fixed term rather than pay-as-you-go. Contabo’s terms describe initial terms of one, three, six or twelve months, and the price for the term falls due immediately when you order. Longer terms lower the monthly rate but mean a bigger single charge. Check the order summary before you pay: it shows the full amount due today, including any one-time fee that applies to the term you chose.

Contabo accepts credit cards — Visa, Mastercard and American Express — and PayPal in every currency. Skrill, bank transfer and direct debit are available only on euro accounts. Contabo states plainly that cryptocurrency payments are not accepted. A USDT-funded card fills that gap: you keep your funds in USDT, move what you need onto a Mehbit virtual card and pay Contabo by card.

At the end of each term the contract is extended by the same period, and the card on file is charged again. Keep enough balance on the card before every renewal date — an empty card is declined even though Contabo accepts the card itself, and Contabo’s terms allow it to suspend a service while an invoice is unpaid and to charge a reactivation fee. If you do not want to renew, cancel from the Customer Control Panel. Contabo’s terms set a four-week notice period before the end of the term, while its VPS page lists no minimum notice for prepaid contracts — cancelling at least four weeks ahead is the safe choice.

Refunds are limited. Consumers have a 14-day right to withdraw from a new contract; Contabo’s terms say this right does not apply to business customers. If you ordered by mistake, Contabo’s help centre says support can cancel and refund the order if you contact them before the server is provisioned. Any refund goes back to the payment method you used, so keep the Mehbit card active.

Two things to know before you pay. First, Contabo may ask a new customer to confirm their details or prove their identity before the server is delivered — its terms allow this whenever it has doubts about a customer’s identity — so use accurate account details and answer quickly. Second, Contabo’s terms reserve the right not to sign contracts with customers from a list of countries that includes Russia, Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea and Sudan, and it screens customers against sanctions lists. A working card does not change these rules, so check that you are eligible for a Contabo account before ordering.
