What is this service?
Scaleway is a European cloud provider headquartered in Paris and part of the French Iliad group. It runs its own data centers in France, the Netherlands, and Poland, and offers a full cloud stack: virtual Instances, bare-metal Elastic Metal servers, Kubernetes Kapsule, S3-compatible Object Storage, Serverless Functions and Containers, and managed databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
Developers, startups, and companies choose Scaleway for competitive European pricing, a strong low-cost range (the Stardust and DEV1 instances start at a few cents to a few euros per month), no egress fees on Object Storage, and GDPR-friendly EU data residency. Nearly everything is billed pay-as-you-go, so you only pay for the hours or resources you actually consume rather than a fixed subscription.

Why is payment hard?
Many local bank cards are not authorized for international SaaS billing. Services process payments through Stripe on international rails, so domestic-only cards are often declined even when you have sufficient balance.

No. Scaleway does not accept direct cryptocurrency. With Mehbit you convert USDT into a virtual Visa or Mastercard balance and pay Scaleway with that card.
Is there a free trial?
There is no classic free trial. Scaleway is pay-as-you-go with some free allowances (like free Object Storage egress and free Serverless tiers) and a startup credits program. You still need a valid card on file, and registering one places a EUR 1 authorization hold.
What if my local bank card is declined at Scaleway?
