What is this service?
Vultr is a cloud provider for developers and businesses. Its core product is Cloud Compute — virtual private servers (VPS) you can launch in any of its 30-plus data center regions across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and Africa. Around it Vultr sells Cloud GPU instances (NVIDIA and AMD), Bare Metal servers, Block, Object and File storage, managed databases, Kubernetes, load balancers and a CDN. Vultr is a trademark of The Constant Company, LLC, a US company, which is why card statements often show the charge as VULTR BY CONSTANT.
People use Vultr for the same jobs as DigitalOcean, Linode or Hetzner: a small VPS for a website, a bot or a personal VPN, a dev/test machine, or a GPU box for AI inference. Plans are billed by the hour up to a monthly cap, so you can spin a server up for an afternoon and pay only for those hours.
Vultr runs on account credit. You add money from Billing → Make a Payment, and your servers draw it down as they run. A Mehbit virtual Visa or Mastercard, topped up with USDT, works there like any international card, and it also satisfies Vultr’s rule that a card or PayPal must be linked before you can deploy anything.
Why is payment hard?
Many local bank cards are not authorized for international SaaS billing. Services process payments through Stripe on international rails, so domestic-only cards are often declined even when you have sufficient balance.
Accepted card types
- Virtual Visa
- Virtual Mastercard
- Prepaid
- Debit
- Credit card
- Crypto (direct)
Vultr accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, JCB and UnionPay cards, and a reloadable Mehbit virtual Visa or Mastercard was accepted. Vultr also takes crypto through BitPay (BTC, ETH, LTC, USDC and others), but USDT is not on its list, and a card or PayPal must be linked to deploy servers anyway.

FAQ
Can I pay for Vultr with a virtual Visa or Mastercard?
Yes. Vultr accepts Visa and Mastercard, and a reloadable Mehbit virtual card works there — we tested it with a real Mehbit card and the payment went through. Link the card in the Vultr console, then add credit from Billing → Make a Payment.
How much does a Vultr server cost?
At the list prices we checked on 2026-09-21, Cloud Compute starts at $2.50 a month for an IPv6-only server and $3.50 with IPv4; a 1 vCPU / 1 GB server is $5 a month, and High Performance plans start at $6. Everything is billed by the hour and capped at the monthly price. Tax is added on top where applicable, and some regions are priced differently, so the control panel is the figure that counts.
What is the small charge on my card after linking it to Vultr?
A temporary authorisation. Vultr says it has not charged your card: it places a small hold to confirm the card is valid, and depending on your bank the hold expires on its own within a few days. Leave a little extra on the card when you first link it.
Can I pay Vultr with USDT directly?
Vultr takes crypto through BitPay, but its list (BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, LTC, USDC and a few others) does not include USDT, and you still need a card or PayPal linked to register and deploy. Topping up a Mehbit card with USDT and paying by card covers both.
What happens if my Vultr balance runs out?
Vultr asks customers to keep the account funded to keep services running and avoid data loss, and its terms let it suspend or terminate services when it cannot collect payment. Watch the remaining credit on the Billing page and top up before it reaches zero. Remember that powered-off servers are still billed until you destroy them.
Tips
Prepay in round amounts from Billing → Make a Payment, and watch the remaining credit on the Billing page.
Leave a little extra on the card when you first link it: Vultr places a temporary authorisation to validate the card, and your bank releases it within a few days.
Destroy servers you do not need. A powered-off instance is still billed until you delete it.
The $2.50 plan is IPv6-only. If you need a normal IPv4 address, pick the $3.50 plan or larger.
Check the price for your chosen region in the control panel — Vultr says some locations are priced differently, and tax is added on top.
