What is Alchemy?
Alchemy is a web3 developer platform run by Alchemy Insights, Inc. It gives developers reliable access to more than 100 blockchains through node and RPC APIs, WebSockets, trace and debug APIs, plus data APIs for tokens, NFTs, transfers and prices, webhooks and wallet tools.
Usage is measured in compute units (CUs). Every API method has a fixed CU cost, so a simple call costs fewer CUs than a heavy one, and your bill follows the CUs your apps actually use.
Alchemy’s paid self-serve plan, Pay as You Go, is billed to a card. A Mehbit virtual debit Mastercard topped up with USDT was accepted there and the payment went through.
Why local cards get declined at Alchemy
Many local bank cards are not enabled for international online payments, or their bank refuses foreign merchants. Merchants abroad charge cards through global payment processors, so a domestic-only card is often declined even when it has enough balance.

- Virtual Mastercard

Alchemy requires a card with automatic collection for Pay as You Go and does not publish a list of accepted card networks. A Mehbit virtual debit Mastercard was accepted.

Alchemy payment FAQ
Can I pay for Alchemy with a virtual card?
Yes. We tested Alchemy with a real Mehbit card — the card was accepted and the payment went through. Issue a Mehbit virtual debit Mastercard, top it up with USDT, add it in the Alchemy dashboard and upgrade to Pay as You Go.
How much does Alchemy cost?
The Free plan includes 30 million compute units a month. Pay as You Go costs $0.52 per million compute units with 10,000 CU per second included; more throughput costs $160 a month per extra 5,000 CU per second. Enterprise is custom-priced.
What is the $5 charge when I upgrade?
It is a temporary pre-authorization hold that Alchemy uses to verify your card. It is not collected, and Stripe usually releases it within 7 days. Make sure your Mehbit card has a few dollars on it before you upgrade.
When does Alchemy charge my card?
Automatically, each time your usage reaches a billing threshold (starting at $50 for new accounts), plus a final charge for the remainder at the end of the month. Keep enough balance on the card so these charges do not fail.
How do I stop paying for Alchemy?
Downgrade to the Free plan in Billing Settings; it takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. To stop charges immediately, set a usage limit of $0. Pay any open invoice first.
Tips for paying Alchemy
Start on the Free plan: 30 million CUs a month is plenty to build and test before you upgrade.
Fund the Mehbit card before you upgrade. Alchemy places a temporary $5 verification hold on the card.
Keep a buffer on the card: charges arrive automatically each time usage reaches a billing threshold, and a failed payment drops you to Free after two days.
Set a usage limit in Billing Settings so a busy app cannot run up a bill larger than your card balance.
Check CU costs per method in Alchemy’s docs: heavy calls such as logs or traces use far more CUs than simple reads.
Rates in Alchemy’s help articles sometimes differ from the pricing page; confirm the current per-CU price on alchemy.com/pricing before you plan a budget.
