What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is an online marketplace for freelance services: you hire freelancers for design, writing, video, programming, marketing and other work, and pay per order (a “gig”), per extra or per custom offer.

Orders are paid up front at checkout. Cards from countries with limited international payments are often refused there; a virtual Mastercard funded with USDT pays like any international card.

Freelancers set their own prices, which are based on a US-dollar price. Fiverr shows them in your local display currency and charges you in that currency, or in US dollars when the payment processor doesn’t support it, so non-USD prices can move a little from day to day.

At checkout you see the price, taxes and Fiverr’s service fee before you click Confirm & pay. Per Fiverr’s help center, the service fee is 5.5% of the purchase, plus $3.50 on orders under $200.

A card can be entered at checkout for your first order and saved as the default then; before a first purchase, only PayPal can be added in your billing settings. Fiverr doesn’t accept cryptocurrency, and one order takes only one card (see Fiverr payment methods).

If an order is cancelled, the money goes to your Fiverr Balance by default and is used on your next order. You can ask for a refund to the original card instead; per the refunds article, it usually arrives within 10 days, and it can fail if the payment method is no longer active.

Subscriptions on Fiverr bill monthly. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

Why local cards get declined at Fiverr

Many local bank cards are not enabled for international online payments, or their bank refuses foreign merchants. Merchants abroad charge cards through global payment processors, so a domestic-only card is often declined even when it has enough balance.
