What is this service?

Slack is a messaging platform for teams. Conversation is organised into channels instead of inboxes, with threads, huddles for quick audio and video calls, canvases for shared documents, lists for lightweight tracking, and Slack Connect for talking to people at other companies inside your own workspace. Thousands of apps plug into it, and Workflow Builder automates routine steps without code. Slack has been part of Salesforce since 2021.

Most teams start on the free plan and upgrade when its limits bite: the free tier keeps only 90 days of message history and allows up to 10 app integrations, and huddles and Slack Connect are limited to one-to-one. Paid plans lift all of that and add the AI features — conversation summaries, AI search, daily recaps and file summaries.

Slack bills per member, per month, and charges the card on file automatically on your renewal date. A Mehbit virtual Visa or Mastercard, topped up with USDT, is accepted at that checkout like any other international card, which matters because Slack does not accept most local payment rails and its invoice option is out of reach for small teams.

Why is payment hard?

Many local bank cards are not authorized for international SaaS billing. Services process payments through Stripe on international rails, so domestic-only cards are often declined even when you have sufficient balance.

Accepted card types

  • Virtual Visa
  • Virtual Mastercard
  • Prepaid
  • Debit
  • Credit card
  • Crypto (direct)

Slack accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and Maestro outside the US and Canada, and a reloadable Mehbit virtual Visa or Mastercard was accepted at checkout. Slack does not take cryptocurrency, so topping up a Mehbit card with USDT and paying by card is the route.

FAQ

Can I pay for Slack with a virtual Visa or Mastercard?

Yes. Outside the US and Canada, Slack accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and Maestro, and the card only needs 16 digits and a CVV — a Mehbit virtual card qualifies. We tested it with a real Mehbit card and Slack’s checkout accepted it; the only thing that stopped the charge was an empty card balance, which is on your side, not Slack’s.

How much does Slack cost per person?

At the list prices we checked on 2026-09-24, Pro is $8.75 per member a month billed monthly and Business+ is $18 per member a month billed monthly. Annual billing is cheaper per member, and Enterprise+ is quoted by Slack’s sales team. The Free plan costs nothing but keeps only 90 days of history and allows up to 10 app integrations.

Why did my Slack bill change without me adding anyone?

That is the Fair Billing Policy. Slack charges only for members who are actively using it. If someone stops using Slack for more than 28 days or is deactivated by an admin, Slack posts a prorated credit for the unused time; if someone starts again or joins mid-cycle, Slack prorates the cost onto your next statement. If everyone goes quiet you are still billed for one member until you downgrade.

Which currency will Slack charge my card in?

One of five: US dollars, British pounds, euros, Indian rupees or Japanese yen. Slack picks it from the location it detected when the workspace was created, not at checkout. If your workspace is on a non-dollar currency, the amount taken off a dollar-funded card depends on that day’s conversion rate. A workspace owner can ask Slack support to change it, and the change applies from the next billing cycle.

Does paying with a card mean I can use Slack from anywhere?

No — and this is the important part. Slack is a US company and applies US sanctions by location, not by card. It has said it suspends accounts while they are inside Iran and logging in from Iran-based IP addresses, and restores full access once the user is back in a non-sanctioned market. A funded Mehbit card solves the payment step only. Read Slack’s terms before you move a team’s history onto it.

Tips

Top the card up before your renewal date, not after. Slack charges automatically on renewal, and a card with no balance is declined even though Slack accepts the card itself.

You pay only for active members. Deactivate people who have left — Slack credits back the unused part of the period automatically.

Check which currency your workspace was set up in. Slack picks it from your location and bills in dollars, pounds, euros, rupees or yen; only Slack support can change it.

Annual billing costs less per member than monthly, but it takes the whole year off the card in one charge — make sure the balance covers it.

Do not count on invoicing as a fallback. It needs annual billing plus dozens of members, and carries a remittance fee.

The charge shows up on your statement as SLACK followed by your workspace ID, which is why it can look like an unfamiliar merchant.
