What is this service?
Flywire is the payment platform thousands of universities, colleges and schools use to collect fees from international students. When your university’s finance page says “pay with Flywire”, you open its Flywire portal, enter the amount from your invoice and pay in your own currency, by bank transfer, card or a local method. Flywire converts the money and delivers it to the university in its currency, with your student ID attached so the payment lands on your account.
Many universities in the UK, Canada, Australia and the US, and others across Europe and Asia, take international tuition, deposits and accommodation fees this way. Flywire covers more than 240 countries and 140 currencies, and shows the payment’s status from the moment you pay until the university receives it.
For students whose banks cannot send international transfers, or whose wires get stuck or rejected on the way, the card option is the fastest route. A Mehbit virtual Mastercard funded with USDT is entered on Flywire like any international card, and the payment is confirmed straight away.
Why is payment hard?
Many local bank cards are not authorized for international SaaS billing. Services process payments through Stripe on international rails, so domestic-only cards are often declined even when you have sufficient balance.

FAQ
Can I pay university tuition on Flywire with a virtual card?
Yes, if your university has card payment switched on in Flywire. We tested it with real Mehbit cards: Flywire accepted the card and the payment settled. Issue a Mehbit virtual Mastercard, load it with USDT and choose the card option on your university’s Flywire portal.
Card or bank transfer — which should I use on Flywire?
A bank transfer is often the cheapest route if you have a bank that can send it, but it takes days and international wires can be delayed or rejected by intermediary banks. A card payment is confirmed immediately and needs no foreign bank account, which is why students without access to international banking use it. Compare the card fee (if your university charges one) with what your bank would cost.
How do I avoid the 3% international card fee?
Some universities add a fee, often around 3%, when the card was issued in a different country from the payer country you chose on Flywire. Pick the country your Mehbit card was issued in — the United Kingdom for the UK card, Singapore for the Singapore card — and check the summary screen. If a fee still appears, it is your university’s policy and Flywire shows it before you pay.
Does the Flywire receipt work for my student visa?
Flywire emails a confirmation and tracks the payment, and the university confirms it once the money reaches your account. Which document a visa application accepts — for example for a UK CAS deposit — is decided by the university and the visa authority, so ask the university and keep both the Flywire confirmation and the university’s receipt.
What happens if the university refunds my tuition?
The university decides the refund and sends it back through Flywire to the original payer and payment method — for a card payment, the same Mehbit card. Keep the card open until any refund arrives. Because exchange rates move, the refunded dollar amount can differ slightly from what you paid.
What if my payment is declined?
With a Mehbit card the usual reason is that the card balance is lower than the amount Flywire charges. Check the dollar figure on Flywire’s summary, load the card to cover it and try again.
Tips
Set the payer country to the country your card was issued in, not where you live or study. A mismatch can add an international card fee of around 3% at some universities.
Check the dollar amount Flywire shows before you load the card, and load enough to cover it in full — including any card fee on the summary screen.
Use the student ID or application number from your invoice so the payment is matched to your account without delay.
Save the Flywire confirmation email and the university’s receipt. Both are useful if a visa application or the finance office asks for proof of payment.
Do not close the card after paying. If the university issues a refund, it comes back to the same card.
