What is Brave?

Buy on a computer at account.brave.com. On phones the purchase goes through the App Store or Google Play instead, and those are separate billing systems; a desktop subscription is linked to your email, so you sign in with the same Brave account on each device.

For developers, the Brave Search API uses prepaid credits rather than a subscription: $5 per 1,000 search requests, or $4 per 1,000 requests plus token charges for AI answers, with $5 of free credit every month. A card is required to open an account.

Brave also sells Brave Origin for a one-time $59.99, and it can be activated on all your devices.

Why local cards get declined at Brave
